Policies and Procedures

We are required by Ofsted to have written policies and procedures. Copies of the full documents are available from the Nursery.
 
a)
Health and Safety

Details instructions regarding: fire, electrical appliances, hot drinks, gates, hygiene, storage of cleaning materials, RIDDOR and supervision of children.

b)
Accident Procedure
Details: reporting, recording and action procedures for accidents.

Fire Drill Procedure
Gives specific instructions regarding the fire drill.

d)
Aims and Practices of the Day Nursery
Provides a list of the day Nursery's aims and practices.

e)
Behaviour Management Policy
Includes how positive behaviour is promoted and how staff will deal with unwanted behaviour in an age appropriate manner.


f)
Special Needs Policy
Provides information on how to assess if a child has special needs and what the aims are concerning care for a special needs child in our day care setting.

g)
Equal Opportunities Policy
Details our aims as a care environment to ensure equal opportunities are given to all.

h)
Parents as Partners Statement of Policy
Explains that the Nursery team will work with parents in a variety of aspects.

i)
Complaints Procedure
Gives detailed information on our intentions, the order in which complaints should be made and how to contact Ofsted.

 j)
Health Policy
Provides guidelines for staff and parents to use when a child is ill or has mild ailments such as conjunctivitis. Also available at the Nursery is a chart listing childhood ailments and exclusion periods.
